Ayurveda translates as the Science of Life

Ayurveda is a natural science that aligns with the teachings and philosophies of yoga.  Ayurveda is a holistic and preventive based form of healing, and it’s ancient wisdom teaches us that our health and wellness come from within. Although it recognizes we are connected to everything, instead of looking outside of ourselves, Ayurveda promotes looking within and learning to listen to our own body. By creating balance between our mind-body-spirit and living in harmony with the universe, we can  experience optimal health.

Ayurveda believes we share similar qualities in our beings with the five basic elements found in the universe: earth, water, fire, air and space. Through understanding our own unique make-up of these elements, our dosha, the current state of their energy in us, and the functions they provide; we learn what we need to find balance in order to heal.

Ayurveda views health concerns or illness as imbalances of these energies in our body.  Imbalances can manifest in us because of many factors: physical, emotional or energetic. Through Ayurveda, we look to find the deeper cause to health related issues not just at the symptoms. An Ayurvedic consultation can help you understand what is currently happening in your physiology or your life that may be leading to health concerns.
